Method below:
1. Follow link in switchy's deal thank @razo
2. Scroll down to where it says "pay for your device in full". Try not to get distracted by headache. Click on "see our plans". Unless you actually want a new contract, choose the one that says 1gb, If you can't see that option, look harder, it's right in front of you.
3. Do you have a PAC? If so, why? You're doing it wrong. If not, click on "I don't have a PAC". Make more coffee.
4. Await delivery.
5. If you want to move your existing SIM and number and contract to the new phone, use the little pin, take out the SIM. And put it in new phone. Nothing to do with PAC.
6. Find (or order) an unused SIM from another network (e.g. three because that's easy).
7. Put the o2 SIM that you got with the phone, in the phone, and text STAC to 75075. Wait for the code and write it down.
8. Go on three's website and fill in the form to use the STAC (or if a SIM from any other network then maybe have to ring them to use STAC).
9. Wait 1-2 days for the STAC to process and check that the o2 SIM card no longer gets a signal. If it still does, the STAC process went wrong, curse a lot, and phone O2 to cancel. The first person you speak to will be wrong. Phone again until you get someone who understands their own terms and conditions. Or, try the STAC process again.
10. The first month's bill from O2 will come out of your account. Don't panic. DONT WHATEVER YOU DO CANCEL YOUR DIRECT DEBIT.
11. After a month, go on web chat with O2 and say you want a refund of the credit on your bill.
