1. Download m365Downg from Play Store (only works on Android so you'll have to borrow a phone if you have iPhone).
2. Turn on your scooter. Open app and press "Connect" within 10 seconds of so. You should see "MiScooterxxxx" with random numbers where the xxxxs are. Click on this.
3. The scooter will beep to confirm connection.
4. Press "Check version". It will give versions for BMS (battery manager), BLE (Bluetooth) and firmware. BLE is probably 110 which you need to change as it doesn't allow custom firmware
5. The first thing you MUST do is downgrade to BLE90 (the software which communicates between your phone and the scooter). You can find it in lots of places if you search "BLE90 M365", e.g.

spzjulien.royalwebhosting.net/M36…zip

Open the zip file in the app and flash across, takes a couple of minutes.

6. Once finished you will need to reconnect to your scooter. When you check version again it should say "BLE 90" or similar.

7. Now the exciting bit, choosing your own firmware. You can make your own via sites like M365 Pro Custom Firmwarebut I would start off with a ready made one because the custom firmware will basically accept any inputs, even ones which can fry the control board on steep hills. A good one to start with is M365 PRO DRV155 32kmh 50k 5% more power from this site

drive.google.com/dri…XXL

Despite the title it goes up to 34kmh and has much better acceleration than stock. BUT flashing new ones only takes a couple of minutes so you can try different ones very easily, from very aggressive ones if you don't mind sacrificing range to more economical ones.

To flash the custom firmware download it to your phone, connect to the M365 Pro like before and flash it across. Try to do it straight after you turn the scooter on so the scooter doesn't go to sleep. If it sticks, just try again.

After that the settings are instantly changed to the higher speed/power etc.

There are just two golden rules. If you don't follow them you may brick your scooter and need a new £40 display or a special connector.

1. Don't try and flash custom firmware without checking that your scooter has BLE 90 first (i.e. steps 5 & 6) (or you can use BLE 72 if you are having problems, but you will need to put back to BLE 90 afterwards for display and speeds to work properly. If you flash custom firmware on BLE 110 your scooter break.

2. Don't mix firmware. Older M365s mostly use 1.3.x or 1.4.x firmware. M365 Pros I think all use 1.5.x or 1.6.x. You can switch between 1.5 and 1.6, e.g. new scooters mostly come with 1.6.1 but you can flash 1.5.5 directly which is usually recommended. However, don't flash 1.3.8 firmware to your M365 Pro as it will break. The links I gave are only for M365 Pro so are safe to use.
